Here are the basics for sorting and filtering reports in A2C
To choose Columns – Click on the Columns Tab at the top left and uncheck all boxes for columns you do not want to see
(you can also right-click Unselect All or Select All)
To Group - Click and drag column headers into the light grey box in the upper left. (see screenshot below)
To add Summaries - Click the + on the column header and check boxes for Average | Count | Maximum | Minimum | Sum These will be added to the bottom of the column you selected.
To Sort Alpha/Numeric - Click the header of any column to order and reverse order of that column. An UP or DOWN arrow will display to show the column is being sorted one way or another.
To Filter - Click on the box below the column header and either select the A box to select parameter such as Greater Than, Starts With, Contains, etc and/or type into the box below the column.
Or click the down arrow to sort to a specific value present, or select (Blanks) | (Non-Blanks) | or (Custom) which will allow you to add several criteria for your filter
Selecting (Custom) from the drop-down will allow you to add multiple filters for one column. For example, maybe you want to only see Last Names that start with "A", but also want to only see names that end in "N".
To Save Layout – Click on Layouts Tab and right-click Save and Name your Report Layout and Press OK (Next time you run this report you can go to Layouts Tab and double-click on your saved layout and it will apply all the customization you have saved)
To Publish Layout as New Report – Click on the layout | Right-Click and Publish, you will then need to rename this report (for this layout, so that you can easily find it) and write a description for it. We highly recommend putting the name of the Base Report in the description so you can tell what you started with if you want to make a similar report in the future.
NOTE: You can only publish Base reports
TIP: If you rename the Category, this will make a new category folder for this report. This will not be viewable to most other users.
FYI: You can sort by more than one column by holding down shift and then clicking another column.
