Claim Error: Check Provider for Circular Transfer
A circular transfer happens when a provider transfer is set up in a way where it has no stopping point. For example, Therapist Jane transfers to Case Therapist. Then Therapist Jane treats a patient, where she is assigned as their Case Therapist. So, the provider table goes to Therapist Jane, which transfers to Case Therapist (which is Jane) which transfers to Case Therapist, and on and on with no end.
You will need to track where the circle is happening and decide how to end it. You may need to remove the transfer or change the patient's case therapist to someone else.
FIX:
- Right-click on the error and Open Case.
- See which clinic this DOS was for, who the treating and Case Therapist was, and who was the carrier.
- Then you can go to Admin | Providers and trace back to see where the circular transfer started.
To clear out transfers that loop back on themselves:
- Go to Admin.
- Click Providers.
- Click Therapists.
- Clear.
