Layouts
You can have as many different layouts as you would like, these layouts can be global for all users to use, or private and used just by the person who created them. All layouts are specific to the clinic for which they were created. Even a layout marked as Global will be available to all users who are looking at that particular clinic’s schedule.
So what can be set with a layout? Just about everything. Right-click anywhere on the schedule and select Layout -> Edit and you will get the following dialog:
There is also a wizard that will guide you through this process under Layout -> Wizard, but you will basically be setting the same items.
Lets take this screen one piece at a time starting at the top of the screen under ‘Settings’:
Settings
Layout Name |
This is the name that will appear in the drop-down at the top of the schedule. Set this to something that makes sense to you ie – “Therapists Only” or “Therapists and Treatment Rooms”. |
View |
Can be set to be ‘By Day’ or ‘By Therapist Resource’. This is the default grouping for this view. |
Therapist Names |
This can be set to the therapist’s Formal Name or Friendly Name as defined in the Therapists table. |
Patient Names |
This determines how the patient's name is displayed on the schedule. The choices are Alias, Alias Last Name, First Name Last Name, Last Name, Last Name Alias, and Last Name First Name. Note that if the Alias is left blank then the patient’s first name will be used instead. |
Therapist Block |
The therapist blocks groups the week’s schedule for each therapist. |
Symbols |
Determines which symbols to display, None, Case, Visit, or Case and Visit. |
Annotations |
Can be set to show above visits, below visits, or hidden on this layout. |
Orientation |
Can be set to vertical or horizontal. |
Start Time |
Where the display starts. Set this to the earliest hour you wish to see. Can be set to midnight. |
End Time |
Where the display ends. Set this to the latest hour you wish to see. This can also be set to midnight. If both values are midnight you would see a 24-hour schedule. |
Days to View |
The number of days to view at one time. If set to 7 you will see 7 days on the schedule at one time. |
Days to Scroll |
Number of days to scroll when you click on the scroll arrow. |
Cell Size Minutes |
The number of minutes in each cell. An example will be shown below. |
Min Visit Extent |
This is the minimum width of a visit. An example will be shown below. |
Days to Display |
Allows you to check off the days you wish to display. If you never treat patients on Saturday or Sunday you would probably uncheck those two days. You can set this to any combination that you wish. |
Left Legend Width |
Controls the width of the left margin. In the horizontal view, it allows you to add or subtract space based on the length of your therapist’s names. In the vertical view, it controls the amount of space allowed on the time column. This allows you to tailor the schedule to best fit your screen. |
Hour Contrast |
Allows you to highlight every other hour. This can help you visually look down the schedule for a particular hour. A setting of 0 means all hours look the same, a setting of 5 offers the most contrast. Play with the setting and find a value that suits your preference. |
Canceled Visits |
Can be set to Show or Hide. If canceled visits are shown then any visit that is canceled will show with the name crossed out. |
Override Labels |
Set to true and overrides will display the type of override on the schedule display. False and the label is hidden. |
Time Highlight |
Turns the timeline on and off or bold. |
Auto-Refresh |
Turns Auto Refresh on or off. |
