Other Case Info: Prescriptions

Permissions! Clinic Staff must have Administrator, Billing Manager, Clinical Director, Front Office, Operations Manager, PTA, Staff Therapist, or Therapy Student Permissions assigned in order to manage Case Info.

Fusion Enterprise understands that the Front Office is a critical function of any practice. We have ensured that you can run all of your practices front office needs through Fusion Enterprise and make it as easy as we can. This series of introductory articles will cover the essential aspects of managing Cases with Fusion Enterprise.

The prescription area contains a list of all prescriptions related to this case. There can be an unlimited number of prescriptions associated with any particular case.

All prescriptions should be entered into the system. Each prescription is assigned a start and end date, frequency, and description. The frequency and description are optional and may be left blank. Equipped with this information, Fusion Enterprise can deduce which prescription belongs to a given visit. This allows Fusion Enterprise to fill in CMS-1500 Boxes 14 and 15 automatically without any intervention or thought from you.

Working with the prescription area is similar to the diagnoses. Choosing Edit Prescription brings up the following dialog:

From here, you can Add, Edit, or Delete the diagnosis. Choosing Add or Edit brings up the following dialog:

Add/Edit Prescription

Start Date	Date the prescription starts.
End Date	Date the prescription ends. Typically four weeks.
Slider	The slider will automatically adjust the End Date to be a set number of weeks from the start date.
Description	(Optional) A description of the prescription. This only shows up on the case dialog in the prescription area and is a courtesy field.
Frequency / Limit	Allows you to enter either a frequency or a visit limit from the prescription.
Save	Saves the new information.
Cancel	Closes and discards any changes.

NOTE: If a visit is scheduled outside of the range of an active prescription, you will receive warnings explaining that the patient’s prescription is no longer valid. There is nothing in Fusion Enterprise that precludes you from editing a prescription to make the duration of a prescription longer. While this will turn off the warnings in the system, it does not make a prescription any more valid in the eyes of an insurance company.
