Permissions! Clinic Staff must have Administrator, Billing Manager, Clinical Director, Front Office, Operations Manager, PTA, Staff Therapist, or Therapy Student Permissions assigned in order to manage Case Info.
Fusion Enterprise understands that the Front Office is a critical function of any practice. We have ensured that you can run all of your practices front office needs through Fusion Enterprise and make it as easy as we can. This series of introductory articles will cover the essential aspects of managing Cases with Fusion Enterprise.
The middle of the case dialog contains a row of buttons. The three buttons on the left-hand side control various case functions, while the buttons on the right-hand side are shortcut buttons that are available for use instead of the right-click menu.
Patient Is Guarantor / Patient Not Guarantor
Indicates whether or not the patient is the guarantor. When blue, the button will read, Patient Is Guarantor. When grey, the button will read, Patient Not Guarantor.
Patient Active / Patient Inactive
Indicates whether or not the case is active. When blue, the button will read, Patient Active. When grey, the button will read, Patient Inactive. An inactive case can not be scheduled. All other functions like billing and collections will continue as normal.
Billing Held / Billing Released
Controls whether or not claims will be created for this patient. When red, button reads Billing Held, preventing claims/statements from being generated. When green, button reads Billing Released, allowing claims/statements to be generated.
Simply click on the button to select or deselect.
Patient Is Guarantor indicates the Patient and the Guarantor share the same biographical profile, meaning they are the same person. When the button reads Patient Is Guarantor, the Guarantor tab in the demographics section will disappear.
Patient Inactive can be used for any patients who are no longer coming to therapy or who have a new case in the system with the old one no longer being used. By default when a new case is created, this button is set to Patient Active. Setting the button to Patient Inactive prevents the patient from being scheduled.
For patients whose information is not complete in the system or any other situation in which bills need to be held, the Billing Held button can be left in this state. This will stop any claims and patient statements from being generated for that patient. By default when a new case is created, the case is set to Billing Held. When the information is set in the case correctly, you should click the button to set it to Billing Released.
The numbered buttons and the C, B, R buttons are shortcuts, allowing you to bypass the right-click menu. Hovering the mouse over the numbered buttons will display a message indicating to Right-click to set Keyboard Shortcut. Right-clicking produces the following menu:
Produces a dropdown list of all available choices for assignment to that button.
Removes the assigned shortcut for that button.
The buttons will turn from grey to green when a shortcut has been assigned. For instance, if you assign button 1 to the Scan Image shortcut, this button will turn green. Each user can set their own buttons.
The C, B, R buttons turn from grey to green when the respective note is present.
