Fusion Enterprise understands that managing all of your cases is a critical function of any practice. We have created Fusion Enterprise to not only be easy to use, but also allow any therapist to be able to sit down and with very little instruction be able to complete an evaluation or a daily note. We have designed the actual documentation to be as customizable as possible. This series of introductory articles will cover the essential aspects of the Flow Sheet in Fusion Enterprise.
Editor
At this point, you should have a good grasp of what the Flow Sheet looks like and its various parts. This section will detail how to actually set up your flow sheet. This is done with the Flow Sheet Editor.
The first time you open a Flow Sheet for a patient the Flow Sheet Editor will automatically open. This editor is divided into 4 panels: Functions, Flow Sheet Templates, Flow Sheet, and Preview. With this screen you will drag functions from the lists on the left to the Flow Sheet panel in the middle, thereby creating the content for your patient’s Flow Sheet.
The Functions panel in the top left displays all of the functions defined in the system. There will be more information on creating functions later in the chapter. You will also learn about the various types of functions in that section as well.
The right-click menu in the Functions panel gives the following options:
Functions Menu
Expand Node |
Expands the node that you have selected in the Function List. |
Expand All |
Expands all nodes in the function list. |
Collapse All |
Collapses all nodes in the function list. |
Add Function… |
Allows you to create a function. |
Edit Function… |
Allows you to edit the function’s Daily Note template. |
Clone Function… |
Creates a copy of a function that you can edit fully. |
Delete Function… |
Removes a function from the list. Note that this does NOT delete it from existing Flow Sheets. This is not reversible. |
Rename Function Category… |
Allows you to rename the selected function category. |
Delete Function Category… |
Allows you to delete a function category as well as all of the functions under it. This is not reversible. |
Show Function ID’s |
Displays the unique function ID next to the function. This is useful when looking at two functions with the same name. |
Show CPT’s |
Displays the CPT code connected to the function. |
The Flow Sheet Templates panel on the lower left shows all of the templates available to you. Flow Sheet Templates are predefined lists of functions that might be used to treat a patient. For example, you may have a list of functions that you use to treat all your Hip patients. Instead of having to look through the complete list of functions each time you treat a Hip patient, you will be able to select the entire Hip template, or just pick and choose individual functions from the template and drag those functions over to your Flow Sheet. You can also set default values for the function that are in a template. More information on that towards the end of this chapter in the section called “Administration Flow Sheet Functions and Templates”.
The right-click menu on the Flow Sheet Templates panel gives the following options:
Functions Templates
Expand Node |
Expands the node that you have selected in the list. |
Expand All |
Expands all nodes in the list. |
Collapse All |
Collapses all nodes in the list. |
Add Template… |
Allows you to create a new template. |
Rename Template… |
Allows you to rename the template. |
Delete Template… |
This deletes the template. Note that the functions in the template are just references to the functions in the function list. Deleting a template will not remove the functions from the function list, just from that template. |
Delete Function… |
Removes a function from the template. |
Show Function ID’s |
Displays the unique function ID next to the function. This is useful when looking at two functions with the same name. |
Show CPT’s |
Displays the CPT code connected to the function. |
To create a template, choose Add Template from the menu, supply a name, and a new empty template will appear in the Template panel. If you have permission and create the template as a global template, then it will be available to all of the therapists in your organization. If it is created under your name then the template will be private and just available to you. Once you have the template name in the template panel, you can drag the functions from either the function list or your Flow Sheet and drop them on your template.
The middle panel contains a list of all the functions on your current Flow Sheet. The panel on the far right shows a preview of the item(s) you have selected.
To add a function to your Flow Sheet click on the function in either the Function Panel or the Templates Panel and drag and drop them into the middle panel. You may also drag an entire Function Category or more usefully an entire Template over to your Flow Sheet and all of the functions from the category or template will be added to your Flow Sheet. Multiple copies of a function are supported.
As you add functions they will show up on the Flow Sheet Panel in the order they will appear on your actual Flow Sheet.
You may change the order of the functions on the Flow Sheet at any time by dragging and dropping them and putting them in the order that you wish. You can do this during the creation of the Flow Sheet as well as at any time in the future.
Functions that have a checkmark are currently visible on the Flow Sheet. This allows you to reduce clutter as you add more functions to the Flow Sheet in future visits and stop using others. Hiding a function does not delete data; it simply hides it from view.
The right-click menu on the Flow Sheet panel gives the following options:
Flow Sheet
Delete Function… |
Deletes a function from the Flow Sheet. Note that you can only delete a function if it has never been performed on any visit on Flow Sheet. This is to prevent you from accidently deleting good data. |
Show Function ID’s |
Displays the unique function ID next to the function. This is useful when looking at two functions with the same name. |
Show CPT’s |
Displays the CPT code associated with the function. |
Once you have your Flow Sheet the way you want it, hit Ok, and you will go to your active Flow Sheet.
